Sunday January 24, 2010: Day 5

Yesterday, I got up early (early for a Saturday anyway) and headed out to a workshop. A man in my congregation asked me to come and help him clean up his workshop for fifty dollars to my Heifer project. I was so excited! Unfortunately, I couldn’t get any pictures of who I was working for or the place I ended up getting covered in sawdust, dog hair, cat hair, and goodness knows what. But here’s a picture of me all grimy and grungy after working. I also got a $10 donation from an extremely wonderful woman in my church who’s also gotten it into her head to hire me out. Yay for manual labor!

Total as of Today: $86.45

I hope you all have a good start to a new week :)

Donation Three: $50

Friday January 22, 2010: Day 3

Two nights ago, at the Wednesday Night Supper we do at our church I announced, for the first time, what I was doing for Lent. Within the first thirty minutes, I got two donations! My first, was from a man I’ve never even spoken to. He’s an extremely sweet man and he immediately gave me a check for twenty-five dollars. The second, was a man from my church that just walked up and told me to hold out my hand and dumped the change he had in his pocket into my hand, and smiled, and walked away.

Total as of Today: $26.45
